9 Meaningful Bible Verses About Blessings from God

Bible verses about blessings are a good reminder to be grateful for the many blessings from God. They serve as an encouragement not to fear the future when God’s hand is over your life.

Blessing is a word that is so common among Christians because we experience it every single day of our lives. God gives us blessings every waking moment. He gives us life, friends, work, the ability to dream, and so much more. The Lord gives us small and big blessings, which are equally important.

God gives us blessings we ask for and blessings that we never expected. The Lord blesses us in so many different ways because He is creative that way. God loves us, and that is why He blesses us. Let us look at some Bible verses about blessings.

What are Bible Verses about Blessings?

There is a belief that once we get used to something, we tend to take it for granted. It makes me wonder if, at some point, Christians get so accustomed to receiving blessings from God that we begin to take them for granted?

From time to time, we might not even notice them anymore. Admittedly, I do not always think to thank God for my life, that the cosmos, the universe, does not spiral out of control, or that gravity remains to keep us planted on the ground, quite literally.

These are all blessings we get from God daily. Imagine if gravity suddenly vanishes, if the universe explodes, or if the sun suddenly rose from the west and set on the east. That would be fatal, but God keeps everything for us every day. Do we always notice and appreciate all these?

Bible verses about blessings remind us that blessings from God are all around us and that He blesses us because of His big and generous heart. These verses would also remind us always to be grateful. By looking at all the blessings God gives us in our lives, we would be reminded of how blessed we are and how incredible God works.

What Does the Bible Say About God’s Blessings?

The first mention of the word blessing in the Bible was when God blessed His creation by being fruitful and multiplying. The most common mention of the word blessing in the Bible is derived from the Greek word eulogia, which means a lot of things like:

  • Praise to God
  • A declaration of supplication (prayer for victory over enemies, help, guidance, etc.)
  • A statement about something being made sacred
  • A gift

God has blessed many people in the Bible in so many ways. He blessed Abraham, David, Solomon, the judges, and many others. They were blessed when they stayed in the will of God. God and blessings always go hand and hand. If we have God in our lives, we will experience great blessings.

Best Bible Verses About Blessings

Bible verses about blessings as a reward from God

Isaiah 1:19

“If you willingly obey me, the best crops in the land will be yours.”

We experience great blessings when we obey God because He never fails to reward those faithful to Him and because the best course of action in life will always be the course that God has prepared for us.

Exodus 23:25

“Worship the Lord your God, and his blessing will be on your food and water. I will take away sickness from among you.”

When we follow and obey God, He will bless us and make sure that we will never lack anything. He will also bring healing to our lives.

Malachi 3:10

“Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.”

Being a Christian means that we should follow God in everything, every aspect of our lives, including our finances. Only through strict obedience will we experience the magnitude of God’s blessings.

Bible verses about gratefulness for blessings

1 Chronicles 16:34

“Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his love endures forever.”

Blessings should not end with us receiving them. We should never forget to thank God and the people He used to give us the blessings that we received.

Psalm 107:8-9

“Let them give thanks to the Lord for his unfailing love and his wonderful deeds for mankind, for he satisfies the thirsty and fills the hungry with good things.”

God does incredible things in our lives in the form of blessings, and it is only fitting that we thank Him for these blessings. Being grateful also reminds us of how God works in our lives, which can serve as a deterrent for doubts and fears.

Bible verses about friends being blessings from God

Proverbs 17:17

“A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for a time of adversity.”

Friends are people God sent into our lives because He knew that we need them in our lives. And a good friend would love us no matter what and will stick with us no matter how hard things get.

Proverbs 27:17

“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another.”

The best kind of friend is the one that would influence us positively. They are gifts from God that should be kept and treasured.

Bible verses about material blessings

Philippians 4:19

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

Faith is a matter of heaven, but this does not mean that God would leave us here on earth to fend for ourselves. He will always be there for us to provide for our needs.

Hebrews 13:5

“Don’t love money; be satisfied with what you have. For God has said, “I will never fail you. I will never abandon you.”

God will never leave us, and He will never forsake us, so there is no reason for us to be scared about bills, debts, and all these things because God owns everything, and He is more than capable of giving us everything we need.

In Summary

God has so much love, mercy, and compassion for us that blessing us, keeping us safe, and providing for us have been part of His nature. The saying goes, “We can give without loving, but we cannot love without giving.” God is the best example of this. Parents cannot sit and do nothing when they know that their children have needs to be met.

God is our parent and any human parent, and if our parents do everything in their power to keep their children safe and well-cared for, God will do an even better job of blessing us. But, we must never forget to be thankful for all the blessings that we receive, even the ones in disguise.
