15 Perfect Bible Verses About God’s Timing

Bible verses about God’s timing tell us that although God’s timing might not always be convenient, it is always perfect.

On more than one occasion, I have been confused as to why God does not answer my prayers right when I need Him to. I mean I had the purest intentions, I have been good, and I never missed church. Shouldn’t I be rewarded for that? To understand God’s a little better, let us see what the Bible says about it.

Bible Verses About God's Timing

What are Bible Verses about God’s Timing?

Bible verses about God’s timing tell us that we should wait for the Lord and His proper time because He is never late nor too early. God’s timing is always perfect so we should trust in the Lord. We can never truly and completely comprehend the will of God so we can never truly understand God’s timing.

But, each Bible verse opens our minds and hearts to God’s voice telling us more about God’s plan, His timing, and the benefits of waiting patiently for the Lord. The Holy Bible is full of testimonies of people who experienced the blessings of waiting for God. May these Bible verses give us strength so we do not lose our hope in the Lord.

Bible verses about God’s plan

Psalm 37:7

“Be still before the Lord and wait patiently for him; do not fret when people succeed in their ways when they carry out their wicked schemes.”

God’s plan does not always happen when we want it to and God’s timing does not depend on our clocks. We might feel pressure when we see undeserving people getting the things we want but keep in mind that you are God’s child and He will give you nothing but the best. So, let us follow the advice in Psalm 37:7 and wait a little bit longer and add a little bit more patience.

Psalm 46:10

“He says, “Be still, and know that I am God; I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth.”

To submit to God’s plan, we have to believe and trust in His power. We also have to trust in His love. God does not do anything that could harm us. He always has our welfare in mind so trust in the Lord and wait patiently for His plan.

Galatians 4:4

“But when the set time had fully come, God sent his Son, born of a woman, born under the law.”

The birth of Jesus Christ is one of the strongest proof of God’s love for us. We have been separated from Him because of sin and He loves us so much that He could not let things stay the way there currently were. Galatians 4:4 tells us of God’s love and His plan.

God sent Jesus Christ on earth to repair the relationship between God and man but it did not happen right after Adam and Eve were banished from the Garden of Eden. It took thousands of years from there for God to complete His plan. Next time you feel like God is taking too long, keep in mind that His best plans take time.

Bible verses about God’s perfect time

2 Peter 3:8-9

“But do not forget this one thing, dear friends: With the Lord, a day is like a thousand years, and a thousand years are like a day. The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead, he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”

Many people mock our faith because since the time of the early church, Christians have already been talking about the second coming of Jesus Christ and up until now, it still has not happened yet. But what they do not understand is that God is holding Himself back because He wants everyone to hear the Word of God and be saved. Yes, that includes the bashers.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

“There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens.”

Ecclesiastes 3:1 is one of the writings of King Solomon who was considered the wisest person in the Bible. This verse teaches us to be wise in observing things and the time that they happen. It would be quite disastrous for the world if summer suddenly turned into winter. The same goes for our lives. Some things might be disastrous for us if given to us at the wrong time so we must wait for God’s timing.

Ecclesiastes 3:11

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. He has also set eternity in the human heart, yet no one can fathom what God has done from beginning to end.”

God created every matter under heaven, He created them beautiful, and He saw that it was good. If we look at the sequence of the creation, we will see how wise God was. Nothing could live without light so He created light first.

Humans cannot live without water, land, and food so He created us last. Ecclesiastes 3:11 reminds us of this fact. God is following the best sequence in your life so sit back, relax, and let God do His thing.

Bible verses about waiting for God’s perfect time

Lamentations 3:25-26

“The Lord is good to those whose hope is in him, to the one who seeks him; it is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the Lord.”

The book of Lamentations is a very grim one but Lamentations 3:25-26 lets us see the faith and hope that remained in the hearts of the people because they know that God will hear their prayers and will work to answer them in the perfect time.

Jeremiah 29:11

“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.”

Some people call God the Greatest Architect because He expertly builds His plans. God always builds His will with us and our best interests in mind. He has the perfect plan for you as Jeremiah 29:11 promises.

Psalm 27:14

“Wait for the Lord; be strong, and let your heart take courage; wait for the Lord!”

It is not always easy to wait for the Lord and His plans. Psalm 27:14 advises us to courage and the strength of heart. Let us arm ourselves with these and wait with excitement at what God would do in our lives.

Bible verses about trusting God’s plan

Micah 7:7

“But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.”

Trusting people and trusting God is always a choice. We have to make the effort to choose to let go of our doubts and fears and hold on to our faith.

Isaiah 40:31

“But those who wait on the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles, they shall run and not be weary, they shall walk and not faint.”

Waiting can be tiring but when we do it for the Lord, we can count on Him to renew our strength whenever we are running low. Isaiah 40:31 tells us that we will never lack strength because the Lord shall supply their needs.

Proverbs 3:5-6

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”

We make mistakes when we rely on ourselves. We make fewer mistakes when we rely on ourselves and others. Proverbs 3:5-6 teaches us that when we learn to lean on God and submit to Him, we will learn that mistakes are a thing of the past.

Bible verses about the benefits of trusting God’s plan

Psalm 37:4

“Take delight in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart.”

We bare ourselves to God and tell Him our deepest desires. We pray earnestly for these things, we fast, and we spend more time reading the Bible and serving the church. But all these would be in vain if we do not submit to Him and His will.

Romans 8:28

“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.”

Like a parent dreaming and planning for His children, God plans for our future too and it is made out of the purest and most powerful kind of love; the perfect kind of love that only God can give.

Genesis 18:14

“Is anything too hard for the Lord? I will return to you at the appointed time next year, and Sarah will have a son.”

The Bible is full of stories of answered prayers. A lot of them did not happen instantly though. Like Sarah and Abraham, some had to wait a long time before God answered their prayers. But when God did, the world stood in awe of His power and might.

Final Thoughts

Waiting might seem like a gargantuan task especially when we are in a rush. God sometimes tells us to sit and calm down. That can be frustrating because we are used to taking steps and action. Whenever this happens, look back to the time when God made a mistake in your life. I bet you would not find a single instance.

God does the perfect thing at the perfect time every single time. One of the perks of being omniscient is that He knows the perfect time to strike and the perfect time to sit still. The most important thing to remember is that God loves us and He is our Parent so we can have the assurance that He will always give us the best even if it means making us wait.
