What does the Bible Say about Faithfulness?

The Holy Bible is a beautiful and sole source of truth and true riches.

Here, you will find the top Bible verses about faithfulness that will encourage you to be a good and faithful servant of Christ Jesus, a faithful and wise manager of His blessings, and a faithful man who has experienced the steadfast love of Christ Jesus.

Psalm 37:5

Commit your way to the Lord; trust in him, and he will do this:”

The word commit is to bind or pledge.

When we live our lives binding to Christ Jesus and trusting Him, we can be assured that He will act.

He will never leave us hanging.

Numbers 30:2

“When a man makes a vow to the Lord or takes an oath to obligate himself by a pledge, he must not break his word but must do everything he said.”

Let our yes be a yes and our no is a definitive no.

When we give a vow, we must fulfill it.

Not for the other person, but to honor Christ Jesus with our words.

Proverbs 16:3

Commit to the Lord whatever you do, and he will establish your plans.”

Do you want to experience success in your life?

Then, commit everything you do to the Lord.

Let the Lord God create your plans and let Him fulfill them as He sees fit.

1 John 4:20

“Whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar.

For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.”

Faithfulness also means obeying all His commandments.

God calls us to show steadfast love to our brothers and sisters.

God calls you to be a faithful person by showing your love for Him to His people.

Proverbs 28:20

A faithful person will be richly blessed, but one eager to get rich will not go unpunished.”

A man who is after earthly richness will never be satisfied.

All his possessions will not be enough to fulfill the God-shaped void in his heart.

Such things will never be enough.

But when we are faithful in our pursuit of Christ, then richness will overtake us and even bless a thousand generations after us.

Galatians 5:1

It is for freedom that Christ has set us free.

Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.”

We are called faithful when we do not just stand firm in victory but when we remain faithful all through the days of our lives.

How?

Ask the Holy Spirit to keep you grounded in perfect faithfulness.

1 Peter 2:9

“But you are a chosen people, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, God’s special possession, that you may declare the praises of him who called you out of darkness into his wonderful light.”

As Jesus Christ is the faithful High priest, we are called to be His royal priesthood.

We are not only called to serve a covenant and steadfast love but also to fulfill our purpose.

As He is a faithful God, you are to be a faithful man ready to do the work that He has set before us.

They are new every morning; great is your faithfulness.

I say to myself, “The Lord is my portion; therefore, I will wait for him.Lamentations 3:23-24

Then, after Israel has been unfaithful for many years, He will heal the land and make a new promise to her based on righteousness, justice, love, compassion, and FAITHFULNESS.

God remains faithful, no matter how many mistakes Israel made or how many mistakes we made.

He showed His faithfulness by sending Jesus Christ to the cross to pay for all of our mistakes.

We become God’s children when we confess our sins, ask for forgiveness, and believe that Jesus is the son of God sent to save us from our lostness.

What a lovely way to say it!

In God’s house, all is certain.

God is faithful, who has called you into fellowship with his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.1 Corinthians 1:9

God’s faithfulness calls us into a relationship, into a family where we can love and grow together.

God’s Promises

Not one of all the Lord’s good promises to Israel failed; everyone was fulfilled.Joshua 21:45

Even though the word “faithfulness” isn’t in this verse, God’s faithfulness is clear because He keeps every promise He made to Israel.

And He will do the same in His promises to us.

The one who calls you is faithful, and he will do it.1 Thessalonians 5:24

This passage is about becoming more like Christ, which is called “sanctification.”

God not only tells us to be more like Jesus, but He also promises to help us to be called faithful.

“And by faith, even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise.” Hebrews 11:11

Sarah was able to believe God for the impossible, not because she had a lot of faith or did something faithful, but because she was sure that God, the one who is a Promise-Keeper, was faithful.

Scripture on Man’s Faithfulness

Man’s Character

Give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.1 Thessalonians 5:18

A faithful man is a grateful man.

He understands that all these blessings are from Him.

“And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” Colossians 3:17

A faithful witness does not seek glory for himself.

Instead, he serves in God’s house and to all the nations for His name to be glorified.

Sing the praises of the Lord, you- his faithful people; praise his holy name.Psalm 30:4

A faithful and wise servant is a worshipper.

He honors and worships God not only through his works but through his words and songs of praise.

Man’s Reward

“Blessed is the one who perseveres under trial because, having stood the test, that person will receive the crown of life that the Lord has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12

In trials, a faithful man remains still and steadfast.

He understands that in proper time, he will receive his greatest reward.

It will be good for that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.Matthew 24:45-46

There is a reward waiting for those who continue to press on, for those who cry out, “O Lord God,” for those who maintain self-control.

He has placed His servants in charge of all His possessions.

In His proper time, He will reward His servants accordingly.

You are His faithful servant.

In Summary

Who, then, is worthy to be called faithful?

No one.

No one is without His grace.

And no one without the help of the Holy Spirit.

Our faithfulness is born out of God’s immeasurable love for us.

We are called the Lord’s anointed – His children.

He keeps His covenant forever with us and gives us peace, patience, kindness, goodness, and love.

So that when we commit to Him, it is not because of our effort but because He first was faithful to us.

In the very end, God gets all the glory.

And all the glory, He deserves.
