Lord, we thank you for the gift of life and a brand new day. We thank you for allowing us to live another day in your grace and mercy. Let all the works of our hands, thoughts, and decisions glorify your name alone. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

Father, I come to you in a prayer of thanksgiving for my friends and loved ones. Thank you for letting me know about people who have helped me become who I am today. I lift them to you in prayer to humbly ask you to continue to shower them with your grace and mercy. I ask that you give them rest and peace in their hearts. Heavenly Father, we thank you for the food and provisions you continue giving us, even when we forget to ask you for them. Thank you for not giving us too much or too little. We pray that you bless us with healthy bodies and that the food we are about to eat nourishes our bodies so that we may complete the work we have planned for the day. Praise and thank God for who He is

Begin your prayer by thanking God for His sovereignty in your life and His goodness and mercy every day. We start our prayers with praise to recognize to whom our prayers go. Praising God reminds us that our accomplishments, successes, and everything we have come from God and are from our strength. It is only through God that everything is possible. 

Express gratitude for everything God has done.

Though you cannot possibly recall everything God has done for you, still take the time to thank Him for everything you have in your life. Thank Him for the promises He has made and is yet to fulfill in your life. You should thank Him for the peace and reassurance He brings into your heart during the days when your doubts and fears discourage you. Thank God for all the opportunities He has given you to grow and become who you are today. 

Reflect and thank God for answered prayers throughout the year

We must remember that everything we ask from God is considered a form of worship. Even if it’s a wish we mutter under our breaths, God hears them, and there are those He grants and those He doesn’t. Nevertheless, we must thank God for hearing and answering all our prayers.
