12 Beautiful Bible Verses for Women to Empower Them

Bible verses for women are filled with wisdom and encouragement for women of all ages. These verses offer wisdom, encouragement, and a deeper understanding of the special role God has given women.

Men and women are created equal because we are all created in the image of God. Women are called to be companions because God saw that it was not good for men to be alone. The Bible describes the woman as a “helper,” but we must understand the original meaning.

The Hebrew word Ezer occurs 21 times in the Old Testament, used for Eve and God. It means “helper” but doesn’t imply subservience as God is also referred to as Ezer. Hence, the term doesn’t denote inferiority.

The word helper here means “ideal partner” in the case of the creation of the woman. God created the woman because He knew that man could not shoulder the responsibility of being the world’s caretaker alone. God gave man the perfect partner, the perfect companion, to succeed in his task.

What are Bible Verses for Women?

Bible verses for women are unique because, in ancient times, no stories or tales talked about women. But the Bible does not merely talk about women. It even describes how God created women. The Bible acknowledges women from the very beginning, indicating that our faith values women and leadership.

We can read many stories about women who God chose in the Bible. There was Miriam, Deborah, Esther, Ruth, Mary, and Phoebe, to name a few. Unnamed women in the Bible impressed God with their faith. Bible verses for women celebrate the faith and service to God and people.

The Fathers of the faith and the early church wrote Bible verses about women to guide us, enlighten us, and support us in our lives and ministries. They will always encourage us to do our best, and they will remind us that women are important and needed in the church, society, and God’s eyes.

Bible verses about women

1 Peter 3:3-4

“Your beauty should not come from outward adornments, such as elaborate hairstyles and the wearing of gold jewelry or fine clothes. Rather, it should be that of your inner self, the unfading beauty of a gentle and quiet spirit, which is of great worth in God’s sight.”

Many things can enhance our beauty, but one must never forget that the beauty that counts comes from the inside, from kindness, compassion, love, and a healthy relationship with God and others.

1 Timothy 2:11-14

“A woman should learn in quietness and full submission. I do not permit a woman to teach or to assume authority over a man; she must be quiet. For Adam was formed first, then Eve. And Adam was not the one deceived; it was the woman who was deceived and became a sinner.”

It is believed that Paul said this because, in those days, many people worshipped Artemis and other goddesses, and their leadership was primarily composed of women. To make a clear distinction between paganism and Christianity, Paul taught the church to give leadership to men.

This is not clear discrimination or belittling of women. To prevent false teachings from infiltrating the church, church leaders assigned various roles to women, such as the position of a deacon. Phoebe was mentioned as a deacon of the early church. The church does not restrict or limit women, but there are times when the church needs to make drastic decisions to protect itself.

Empowering Bible verses for women

Titus 2:3-5

“Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanderers or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.”

Setting examples for the next generation is very important, and women should do the same. We must keep in mind what John Wesley said, “What one generation tolerates, the next generation will embrace.” We must always be careful in the example that we are setting. Let us always seek the will of God.

Psalm 46:5

“God is within her, she will not fall; God will help her at break of day.”

There is always victory waiting for those that are faithful to God. God hears our prayers and cries and no matter how dark the night gets, hold on to the truth that the light of God is within you and around you.

Luke 1:45

“Blessed is she who has believed that the Lord would fulfill his promises to her!”

Trusting in God’s plan and love brings peace beyond our imagination, beyond the reasons of this world. That is a blessing but more awaits for the faithful women who never turn their back on God.

Bible Verses for Women

Bible verses for women that show their strength

Proverbs 31:26

“She opens her mouth with wisdom, and on her tongue is the law of kindness.”

No one should silence other people, and no one should rob anyone of their right to speak up. Let us always remember that Jesus, no matter what words came out of His mouth, always spoke from a place of love. No matter what He said, teachings or rebukes, they were words borne of love, and we should do the same.

Proverbs 31:25

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”

A woman deserves confidence in all aspects of her life, but the most crucial confidence comes from our faith in God and His works.

Bible verses for women in need of love and reassurance

Psalm 139:14

“I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.”

Our bodies are so intricately made that one cannot help but see that we are made lovingly. We are loved, and we are beautiful in the eyes of God. Human eyes can be faulty and fail to see that beauty, but that does not lessen your worth or the Lord’s love for you.

Proverbs 31:30

“Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the Lord is to be praised.”

Beauty is so important in our world today that some even consider it a commodity. Many people work hard to enhance and maintain their beauty, but outward appearances fade quickly. What remains is our relationship with God and others. Let us not trade these for anything.

Best Bible verses for modern women’s problems

Bible verses on relationships with non-believers

1 Peter 3:1-2

“Wives, in the same way, submit yourselves to your own husbands so that, if any of them do not believe the word, they may be won over without words by the behavior of their wives, when they see the purity and reverence of your lives.”

Differences in beliefs and faith can cause problems and even rifts in a marriage. We have often heard that actions speak louder than words, and God has commanded us to win souls and not arguments.

At times, words, facts, and arguments only seem to make things worse, and the way to win our beloved’s soul is to humble ourselves as Jesus did, value their feelings and opinions, pray for them, and hold fast to our faith.

Bible verses for women who want to get married

Ephesians 5:22-25

“Wives, submit yourselves to your own husbands as you do to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife as Christ is the head of the church, his body, of which he is the Savior. Now as the church submits to Christ, so also wives should submit to their husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her.”

A man and a woman are both precious in the eyes of God, and they must honor each other. Wives should value their husbands by honoring their authority in the house, but a man should love his wife as Jesus loved the church, willing to sacrifice himself for the good of the wife.

This means that a man should never hurt his wife or place her in a situation where she is uncomfortable or feels unsafe. A husband and a wife should both know what is expected of them in a marriage and what they should expect from it and each other. This way, everyone receives everything God intended for them to receive.

Bible verses for working moms

1 Corinthians 15:10

“But by the grace of God, I am what I am, and his grace to me was not without effect. No, I worked harder than all of them—yet not I, but the grace of God that was with me.”

Many people cannot imagine what life is like for a working mom, so many people do not understand. Working moms work the hardest to find the balance between work, family, and their well-being. There are a lot of times when they run low on strength, but they will never run out because God is always there carrying the load with them and renewing their strength every day.

Bible Verses for Women

In Summary

The Bible goes against the way of the world. The Bible teaches us to value things that the world takes for granted and ignore the things that the world values. The Lord and His scripture are inclusive, fair, and full of love.

Let us always remember this whenever we look at others and ourselves. No matter what the world or other people say, we are loved and accepted, and we are beautiful because we are fearfully and wonderfully made in the image of God.
